Week 11 Power Rankings
October 28th, 2009There has been talk of getting some power rankings going for some time. I’m up and have nothing to do so I say now’s the time. I didn’t take the time to rank CPU teams, because no one cares about them. Also, please excuse any slightly incorrect statistics. I am unable to find a place where I can look at stats other than individual box scores so errors may occur when adding things up. Anyone who feels slighted is free to bitch about it on the forums or by commenting on this post. On to the rankings.
1. Seattle Seahawks 9-0
Panda’s Hawks have won their user games by an average of 34.25 points a game, and that wasn’t all against powder puffs either
2. New England Patriots 7-2
LongDon has not lost a game since he joined the franchise. So what if only two of them were against users… One of those was against the Ravens.
3. Carolina Panthers 6-3
I would love to rank them higher but they’re riding a two game game losing streak.
4. Baltimore Ravens 7-2
HeavyP’s Ravens have had a tough schedule up to this point. Maybe ranked a little high, but their only losses were to a solid Bengals team and the New England Patriots.
5. San Diego Chargers 8-1
BlackLions’ beloved Chargers have yet to see a close contest other than the one they lost in week 2 to Baltimore. They have arguably the most potent offense in the league, albeit against what has been a very weak schedule.
6. Washington Redskins 8-1
Yet another case of a pretty good team taking advantage of a weak schedule. Gregma’s opponents have a combined record of 30-50-1.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars 6-3
The Jags have played a tough schedule and come out on top their fair share of the time. A near loss to a newer player last week probably kept them out of the sixth spot.
8. Cincinnati Bengals 7-2
A bad loss to the CPU controlled Steelers followed by a squeaking tight win over the hapless Raiders and what do you get? A team on a bit of a slide. Add injuries to Mike Vick and Adrian Peterson and you’ve got yourself a full blown amber alert.
9. Arizona Cardinals 5-4
Crispy’s Cards have played what I would probably consider the leagues toughest player versus player schedule up to this point, including matchups against the Seahawks twice, the Panthers, and the Jaguars so far this season. A 5-4 record doesn’t really seem that bad when you think about it.
10. Buffalo Bills 7-2
My beloved Bills… a passing game that is in shambles right now is the only thing holding them back. Matt Ryan leads all user controlled QB’s in interceptions thrown. If he can figure it out, this team can make a serious run.
11. New Orleans Saints 7-2
Peters Saints have managed to get away with playing only one user matchup this season, which they lost to the Bills. The worst 7 win team in the league. That having been said, there is plenty to like about this team… If they can continue to work Reggie Bush into the passing game, they will be dangerous.
12. New York Jets 4-5
In large part the Jets are a victom of a late start. They did however show up to play last week, nearly knocking off the Jaguars.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-6
The Bucs now have their second owner of the season. Here’s to hoping this one doesn’t give up as well…
14. Tennessee Titans 4-5
Husky’s Titans have played more user matchups than any team in the league…. And just haven’t won enough of them.
15. San Fransisco 49ers 4-5
There’s a lot to like about the future of this team, starting with Mark Sanchez. Unfortunetely for them, they share a division with two very good teams.
16. Detroit Lions 3-5-1
Amazingly enough, 3 wins puts you right in the thick of the NFC North chase right now…
17. Minnesota Vikings 4-5
The Vikings have been routed in several ways so far this year. Both by other teams, like the Ravens in week 6. And by their trainers. They’re finally healthy going into week 11, we’ll see if that makes a difference.
